Christopher Pyne was the Australian Minister for Defence Industry from July 2016 to August 2018, where he was then appointed Minister for Defence. He stayed in this role until May of 2019 where, only 9 days after retiring from politics, he joined Ernst & Young as a consultant to grow their defence business. It was later revealed that Mr. Pyne had met with Ernst & Young while still a minister in March of 2019 to discuss potential roles following his retirement from politics.
